How to water your Japanese Maple tree - Ten Mile Maples

Japanese Maples are easy to water. The key is that Japanese Maples like good drainage, but also like regular amounts of water. The important thing is to not over-water your tree. The number one reason Japanese Maples die is from over-watering. Your goal when it comes to watering is to ensure that the soil remains moistened. Use the “finger test” to check the soil for moisture. If you sense moisture around your finger do not water the tree. Hot days may require more water than usual. Potted trees usually require watering 2-3 times per week in the summer.
